I’ve spent thirty years showing up, waiting for the light, and trying not to get in the way of the story.
My career began in the black-and-white world of rural Iowa newspapers, where I learned that every small-town story has a heartbeat. That journey took me across the world to Thailand, where I spent twelve years documenting everything from the ancient ruins of Ayutthaya to the sweat-soaked "farang" music scene of the Bangkok Jungle. Whether it's a Little League game in Missouri or an underground set in a Thai basement blues bar, I’m there to capture the focus before the moment fades.Currently based in the Midwest, still chasing the light.
And yes, even today I still wear plaid shirts.
From the rhythmic chime of bells in a Chiang Mai Wat to the summer dust of Missouri diamonds. This archive is a curated record of thirty years behind the lens, organized into four distinct collections: the long years in the Kingdom of Thailand, the heartland grit of the Carlson's Dodgers, the early newsprint of rural Iowa, and the electric underground of the Bangkok Jungle.Select any image to open the gallery and begin the full-screen slideshow.
Twelve Years in the Kingdom
Twelve years behind the lens in Southeast Asia. Between 1997 and 2009, Thailand wasn't just a location; it was home. This archive is a curated record of a decade spent witnessing the Kingdom's evolving soul, one frame at a time.
The Heartland: Carlson's Dodgers
A visual summary of a season spent in the shadows of Missouri ballparks. These highlights represent the pulse of the Carlson’s Dodgers chronicle—a testament to the game as it is lived, not just played.
